모임/mo-im

Last week, I joined in on a mini gathering which is basically a sleepover in a rented house with compulsory BBQ nights, snacks, games, drinks and more food- everything in overload mode.

So we started the meetup in the grocery store and stocked up 2 huge carts to feed all of us for 3 days. We gave our chef friend who works for one of the biggest hotel in Jeju the awesome privilege to feed all of us, all day- for the entire stay!

We got there around midday and we were hungry but not wanting to spoil the huge meat fest BBQ later... chef made us pajeon/korean pancake. (instavideo here) **chef highly recommends that flour brand for home-made pajeon.

Night came with the rain and we stuffed ourselves silly and I slept in- declining breakfast the next morning but was very awake for lunch where we were fed- Beaksuk 닭백숙 (which is basically a whole chicken cooked the samgyetang way but it's served without the soup). The soup is than turned into the broth for making green bean porridge/죽.

We headed to the sea to see the windmill and to the fresh market to prep for our seafood BBQ night. We bought 3 kinds of fishes and have the ahjumma's slicing em'up to sashimi perfection (see the video here and here) and we took home the fish bones to turn it into a pot of spicy cooling tofu broth!

Sure we had more food like fried chicken delivery and instant noodles, grapes to peaches.. the whole works in about 48 hours...
boy! do I feel heavy.
