DIY: Korean Seal.

Last week, I came across a Korean Seal Making workshop organized by the Seoul Global Cultural Center - where foreigners staying in Korea or visiting can learn more about all things Korean like kpop dancing, k-beauty to crafts and cooking.

Most of their activities are held the Seoul Global Cultural Center in Myeongdong (the same building where the huge Forever 21 is situated). If you follow their facebook account- schedules on different activities will be posted and reservation has to be made prior to the class. Nonetheless, if you find yourself around Myeongdong and wish to do some simple crafts like coloring key chains- you can just walk up and craft away!

However for this particular Korean seal workshop- it is held at the National Museum of Korea and the fee is 5,000won for 2 hours of hands on Dojang/도장 making.

The class starts with a brief introduction to the Korean Seal "Dojang", when and how it started and the use of it, then and now.
You can pick which kind of stamp you would like to create- names in red or background in red. I picked the names in red because it was harder to carved. Haha!

They provided all the tools and the instructors are hands on if you have any questions or need help along the way.

This would make a nice relaxing friends and family bonding time if you are visiting Korea and want a memorable souvenir instead of getting those laser cut stamps at touristy spots.

Can't wait for my next friend to come so that we can go make stamps together-gether!
